Dr. Angelo A. Della Pietra, MD, DO
Angelo A. Della Pietra, M.D., D.O., is a board certified family physician and graduate of the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and Ross University School of Medicine. He did his training at the State University of New York in Buffalo where he was named “Resident Teacher of the Year.” After his residency, he joined the U.S. Air Force for four years and practiced as a family physician. During this period of time, he achieved the rank of Major and earned the Meritorious Award for Service.
Dr. Della Pietra has a strong interest in natural/complementary medicine. He is certified in acupuncture and integrates nutritional supplements and bio-identical hormones into his practice. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American College of Alternative Medicine. Recently, he became certified as a GAPS clinician. GAPS (Gut and Psychological Syndrome) is a dietary program that targets autism, hyperactivity disorders and other psychological conditions in adults and children. The Weston A. Price Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to “restoring nutrient-dense foods to the American diet through education, research and activism, endorses this comprehensive dietary approach to wellness.
In addition to his specialty training, Dr. Della Pietra is a medical practitioner that understands the relationship of teeth and surrounding jaw structures to the entire health of the patient. He is very aware of how dental infections can affect the general health of a patient. He works closely with Dr. Kacherski in this regard to evaluate periodontal disease, failed root canals, and jaw infections.
